Fat Loss Success Strategies - Build Muscle, Lose Fat and See Results That Last a Lifetime

You know I got to wondering the other day why people 'yo-yo' diet. You know the score... see a diet, pick it up, try it for a while, put it down... few months down the line pick it up again or try a new
one... and so on and so on. Somewhere in all that up and down dieting there'll be a couple of pounds lost here and there but nothing that's consistent and really worthwhile.

Reason I was thinking about 'yo-yo' dieting was on account of a friend of mine who I'd just accused of being a 'yo-yo' gymmer. He will spend a couple of weeks on a regular basis virtually killing himself in the gym every single day to lose some fat and build some muscle. Then after he's lost a few pounds and it starts to get harder to get the changes, he just gives up, turns into a slob again and we wait a couple of months before he yo-yos up again.

Thing is it's real easy for us to go into a new diet or fitness training program feeling real upbeat and ready to go. And, if we do things right then we will lose some pounds which will make us feel real good about the whole deal. But then... and you can check this with anyone you know who had problems consistently losing weight and keeping it off... we just give up.

So, what happens? Well, sometimes we hit that plateau where the easy weight loss is over and the harder weight loss begins. You can lose a great amount of weight at the beginning of any health and fitness deal but eventually you'll have to try something else to carry on with your weight loss and it won't give you such extreme and uplifting results.

And, a lot of people actually just get bored, tired and hungry. My friend just wears himself out hitting the gym before work every morning and then he gets cranky because he doesn't eat right. Some people on a new diet actually just give up because they're basically tired of being hungry or of eating weird foods or milkshakes that taste of gloop.

The thing is, you need to be motivated to move on from these plateaus... that way you'll see better and longer terms results. With the right training and motivation you can build muscle, lose fat over longer periods than with a standard diet or fitness program. This isn't just about doing stuff for a couple of weeks to lose a couple of pounds. It's about doing something that could change your life for the better in the short and long term.
